Third Round Results

Sorry I was late in posting the results and opening the next round!

The third round is now closed.  The true contenders continue to separate themselves from the pack, while a few underdogs hang on for one more round. Let's see who has moved on and who will be home for the holidays!





Joy to the World advances to the Elite Eight after a classic sacred/secular battle - this is now further than it got in 2020.  



God Rest Ye takes down a giant, as it continues to redeem itself after a second-round exit in 2020.



This one was tied up until very late.  Whoever voted late in the cycle - you prevented war in round four.


The spirit of Ukraine presses on - Carol of the Bells easily dispatches the last remaining Angel carol.



One Nutcracker selection advances to the Elite Eight - the furthest any have ever made it!



It was close, but Sleigh Ride continues its title defense.  Will anything be able to avoid getting trampled by this unstoppable object?



Silent Night takes down Winter Wonderland to prevent a Cold War in the next round.  



Santa Claus is going home, as the last remaining Santa song bows out.

2023 First Round Results

The First Round is now closed!  Results and commentary are below.   But first, my yearly disclaimer:  I am an unabashed music snob.  I may trash-talk one of your favorites.  But this is all in good fun, so please fire back at me.  There's no banter like music geek banter.   Unfortunately my snarky comment game is a little off this morning, so apologies for some of the subpar content.  Hopefully I bring it stronger in Round 2. Speaking of which, Round 2 matchups will be posted soon!  Vote and share! "O Holy Night" crashed out early last year, losing to the eventual champion.  It's on a mission in 2023. Jaunty triumphs over mellow in a 6/8 showdown.  Greensleeves takes out the green grump.   Imagine being so confident as a songwriter that you fire out a new holiday tune and have the audacity to call it " The Christmas Song."  Come at me, all you OSU weirdos.   But still, better than thinking it's a good idea to play drums around a newborn.   There goes San
